Maddison Coaching and Consulting is delighted to announce a new opportunity to add to our portfolio of services and events: ‘First Friday Netwalking’ (FFN).
Everyone understands the benefit of walking: it relieves stress, releases mood-enhancing endorphins and burns calories. People who have noticed that great conversations often happen while you walk have capitalised on this to introduce business networking walks. Maddison Coaching will add a third benefit by adding their group coaching skills to enhance the support available during this networking opportunity.
“Netwalking – networking while you walk – is not a new phenomenon; it’s been around for over a decade already,” explained professional coach, Vicky Maddison. “But I think the challenges of recent years seem to have given us all a new appreciation of the importance, not just of getting out for a walk, but of making positive connections. Those developing their business or just starting up are looking for supportive networking events, I felt I could make it an even more valuable experience by adding in the group coaching element.”
Net-walkers will start each session with some refreshments and the opportunity to introduce themselves during the first group coaching activity led by Vicky. The walk – around 45 minutes over beautiful but easy terrain – is then an opportunity for walkers to discuss any topics further, perhaps share their own business experiences or challenges with others. The netwalk then concludes back at the starting point with a final chance to exchange business cards and discuss that vital question ‘what next?’
Bringing her varied experiences and professional qualifications, Vicky draws on a diverse set of coaching techniques to not only get the most out of the session for all walkers but to ensure that sessions don’t feel repetitive for regulars. Typical group coaching topics for the netwalking may include: networking to develop and maintain relationships; building your business culture and values; and being confident with your sales pitch. We would like you to choose the topics, however, so be sure to raise your suggestions with us.
Many of the netwalks will start from the Altus Life based at the stunning Norman Court on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border. The combination of on-site facilities and the countryside location make it an ideal hub for our event. It’s also an opportunity for Altus to show off the peak performance and health treatments they have on offer. However, not all our walks are likely to start here, as we will take the opportunity to explore the New Forest and the Test Valley on future dates.
Each walk costs just £20 per delegate, which includes refreshments, the guided walk and the group coaching session. After each walk, you will also have access to our netwalking members listing so you can connect with and support the other business professionals who you have met.
“I encourage everyone to try it: to enjoy the open air, some gentle exercise, alongside the networking and coaching opportunity,” said Vicky. “And, yes, depending on where we are going, walkers can usually bring dogs on leads too – another benefit! Please just check in with me first.”
Booking for ‘First Friday Netwalking’ (FFN) is essential and can be done up to 24 hours before each walk. You can book via Eventbrite here.
